SyncMate-MKII
(Link-1, Link-11B etc)

The SyncMate-MKII is a single channel bi-directional Synchronous to Asynchronous pocket size converter with format conversion. The unit is the follow up of the SyncMate that has been in use since 1996. The SyncMate-MKII is capable of higher throughput speeds, has a monitoring facility and has a backwards compatibility mode that sets the unit to be backwards compatible with the SyncMate. The SyncMate-MKII is freely configurable using a setup menu that can be accessed through the asynchronous side of the unit. The versatility of the SyncMate-MKII makes it an excellent choice when there is a requirement to interface with a single Link-1 or Link-11B channel.

Advantages of the SyncMate-MKII in comparison with the legacy SyncMate:

  • Monitor mode – allows analyzing of the synchronous incoming data stream through the use of a standard serial terminal
  • Higher throughput – up to 64 kbit sync, 230k4 async
  • Lower power consumption – ideal for mobile applications, power is derived from RS-232 signal lines
  • Lower operating voltage – enables the unit to be powered from modern low power RS-232 drivers
  • Selectable clock inversion – no need to use a ClockMate when hooking up to SEL-2013 modems
  • Backwards compatible – compatibility mode provides same user interface as the SyncMate
  • 15kV ESD protection (HBM) – unit is protected against ESD-events of 15kV (HBM), 8kV (IEC 1000-4-2 CD) and 15kV (IEC 1000-4-2 AGD)
