MIDS Support Interface

The MIDS-Main Terminal Support Port Interface (MSI) is a 19-inch rack mountable stand-alone Ethernet 10/100M interface to the MIDS LVT(1) and LVT(2) “Support Port”. The MSI has been designed to facilitate message forwarding from the MIDS-network to applications used to distribute this information across (wired/wireless) networks.

The MIDS-Main Terminal Support Port Interface connects
directly to the J3 (databus) connector of the MIDS LVT(1)
and LVT(2). All of the signals on the J3 connector pass
through the MSI except for those of the “Support Port”. Two
RJ-45 sockets connectable to 10/100M Ethernet on the back
panel of the MSI provide access to the Support Port.
